Computational Weaving Tools

A core part of the work I am leading in the Unstable Design Lab, as well as for my own fun, explores making computational interfaces for designing weave drafts for both jacquard and frame looms. This includes “AdaCAD” an augmented drafting tool funded by the National Science Foundation that has specific supports for integrating circuitry into textiles as well as more traditional design generators, such as a systems that takes in images and coverts them to a 3-layer woven draft, as well as a text based interface for creating overshot weaving patterns (work in progress).
