Net In Ruins is a participatory art piece I created for the Super Santa Barbara show on Net Neutrality. The net represents “the net” and each person at the opening was invited to cut one piece of the net. I then snapped a photo after each cut and displayed it next to the net. As the physical net collapsed, memories of the net were created and built. To me, this is sort of what it would feel like if the net was no longer neutral. I’d miss it. I’m not so keen on anonymous powers cutting my access but this is just my biased opinion. See below for the quick animation of the net falling apart as seen at the opening.
